Since the early days of European culture, winter tradition involved the telling of spooky tales while huddled around the fire. This oral tradition quickly made its way to the page with the advent of the printing press during the Industrial Revolution, and this became a beloved tradition all over modern Europe as well as the west. With the injection of modern capitalism into holiday celebration, this tradition sadly fell by the wayside. We refuse to let this stand. With this, a micro-anthology of Christmas ghost stories, we are reclaiming a bit of that treasured time spent around the fire with our loved ones. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Campfire: Tales of the Strange and Unsettling is created for adult audiences only. The content and discussion in this show will necessarily engage with various accounts that include violence, anxiety, fear, and occasional body horror. Much of it will be emotionally and intellectually challenging to engage with. We will flag especially graphic or intense content so as to never put you in an uninformed or unprepared position. We will do our best to make this a space where we can engage bravely, empathetically, and thoughtfully with difficult content every week.
